Living In Starkey Ranch
Starkey Ranch Odessa Florida – See all the neighborhoods, parks and what it’s like living in Starkey Ranch. See why it’s the #1 best-selling Master Planned Community yet again in 2022. Built on over 2400 acres adjoining JB Starkey Wilderness Park in Pasco County, Starkey Ranch is a top neighborhood in Tampa Bay and for good reason!
Starkey Ranch was developed on about two and a half thousand acres in Pasco county. This whole area was ranchland. Located about 30 minutes north of Tampa international airport. There are several neighborhoods that we’ll take a look at today. If you like the idea of an outdoor lifestyle, where you can see different things through the year, this could be a great fit for you. This community has a Homeowners Association, and a CDD- make sure they are a good fit for you!
Whitfield Park
Any tour of Starkey Ranch has to start right at Whitfield Park, because this is where it all started. Whitfield Park is one of the hubs of the community because the central area includes a dog park, open lawn area, picnic areas. Also, there’s a pool and a splash pad for the kids and even a fire pit, so you can entertain family and friends. There’s a variety of homes- single family homes, and also town homes, many built by builders such as MI Homes.
Starkey Ranch K-8 School, Library and Theater
The theatre library and school campus were a joint partnership between Pasco county schools, Parks and Public Libraries and Wheelock communities. This whole development is now open and operational.
The innovative Magnet School- Starkey Ranch K-8 school – offers three magnet programs:
- Technical fine arts,
- Computer science, and
- World languages.
District Park at Starkey Ranch
Next door is District Park, which has facilities, ball parks, soccer and football fields, and more still being developed. There are plenty of sporting programs, and more to come. This includes:
- Softball Field.
- 3 Lighted multi-purpose fields for soccer / Lacrosse and football
- Lighted Baseball fields.
- Concession Stand with Restroom, 4 Picnic Pavilions / Playground.
- 4 Tennis Courts adjacent to the Library.
- Trailhead to 20 mile trail system.
Monroe Commons
Right across the street from District Park is Monroe Commons. These two-story homes were built by Pulte. You’ll find a variety of properties, some of them have garages at the front and others have rear load garages. This neighborhood overlooks a lake on one side and a pond on the other. The view of Huckleberry Pond is gorgeous as the sun sets
Whitfield Preserve
Away from the activity at District Park is Whitfield Preserve, which backs-up to JB Starkey Wilderness Park. A lot of these homes have extreme privacy at the back and an unparalleled experience of backing up to nature. There’s a variety of home styles and West Bay Homes, who built this part of Starkey Ranch, did an awesome job. This is a very popular area within Starkey.
Stansil Park
Stansil Park is one of the last developments to be developed in Starkey Ranch tucked away behind Starkey Ranch Town Centre at the far east portion of Starkey Ranch property. Developed by Taylor Morrison, you’ll find a variety of homes in here. These one- and two-story homes are well situated and will be close to the road that links the development through to Astoria to the east.
Some of the homes are two story and have balconies both upstairs and downstairs. Some also have rear-load garages and some other front load garages. Taylor Morrison offers a good selection of design features and many homeowners had the experience of picking options at the design center, so along with the wide variety of structural options, you tend to find no two homes are the same.
Starkey Ranch Town Center
There are a couple of shopping areas being developed. One of them is Starkey Ranch town center. If you like Publix, you’re in for a treat – you’ve got three really close by to the development, but there is also an Aldi and a Sprouts nearby as well. There are a good number of businesses that already moved in, with more to come.
Every new development on State Road, 54 needs its own apartment complex, and Starkey Ranch is no different. It has changed names about three times and is currently called The Lotus at Starkey Ranch.
Homestead park- Homes and Park
If you hear someone talking about Homestead Park, they could be talking about the neighborhood or they could be talking about the actual park. It’s home to one of the three swimming pool amenities centers within the community. There is also a dog park for the pups, some fun play equipment for the kids and some amazing nature with the really mature trees that have been allowed to stay and were incorporated into the design. .
Several builders were involved in the development of this area in Starkey Ranch, giving a wide variety of properties to consider whether you’re looking for something, one story on a small lot or something larger on an estate size lot. Each neighborhood’s really developing its own feel. And I think social media has really helped with that because some of the Facebook groups allow people to get together and plan some amazing events.
Cunningham Park at Starkey Ranch
Cunningham Park is fantastic and you’ve definitely got to go and check it out! It doesn’t matter what time of year you’re there. So there’s often events going on at the amenity center. In fact, there’s a planned activity program that has events across Starkey Ranch throughout the year. So always worth checking to see what’s on the calendar. There could be yoga going on there, or it could have been rented for something like prom. It’s such a fun place to be. And it’s so photogenic throughout the year, so make sure you’ve got your camera ready. And did you know if you’re a resident you can rent the kayaks and canoes? Just drop your pass over at the Welcome Centre and they’ll hand you the key!
Esplanade at Starkey Ranch
Esplanade at Starkey Ranch is one of the larger communities within the development with homes ranging from about 1600 square feet, two bedroom, two bath, up to three or four bedroom homes in the 3000 square foot range With tennis courts, pickleball courts, a children’s play area, private resort style pool with resistance pool and hot tub. There’s always something going on. And the amenity center is staffed to provide activities and events throughout the year. If you are looking for a low maintenance lifestyle, this could be a great fit because the majority of yard work is handled in the maintenance fee.
Anclote Reserve at Starkey Ranch
While Esplanade is one of the gate communities within Starkey, Anclote Reserve is the other! This small community of exclusive homes was built by Homes by West Bay, and has one of the best locations within the entire ranch, with homes backing up to preserve and, and ponds and lake throughout the entire communities. These are large homes on extensive sized lots, and the quality is all there in these West Bay Homes. This is an area that you don’t want to miss!
Albritton Park
This is one of the final developments to be created within the ranch. And it was still being developed at the time when we filmed this video. Well worth a visit, Albritton is located towards the west end of the ranch, closest to the Starkey Boulevard, entrance. It has an amenity center, that’s still being developed. There’ll be a park, pool, and other recreational facilities, as well as another dog park.
